What I bought at Target: April 2011

Target strikes again!

I’m back to discuss my lovely purchases from the month of April.  I bought A LOT more than this, but some things are more share-worthy than others : )
Let’s take it from the top left – clockwise style….

1.  Meant to buy - I’m always on the lookout for stylish candles that can freshen up my home.  So, when I ran into this lemon verbena soy candle I thought I’d give it a try.  It goes with the decor in my home and it’s scent reminded me of Pez candy…bonus!  At the end of the day I’d say the look far outweighed the freshening abilities.  The candle was pretty weak as far as fragrance and it didn’t last quite that long either. I’m glad I gave it a try, but it’s probably best to go back to my original Target candle which I’ll share in a future month.

2.  Did not mean to buy – A plethora of plant seeds.  The winter has been long here in Ohio.  When I happened upon Target’s lawn and garden center I thought I’d check things out : )  I came home with a bunch of flower seeds to brighten my mood.  I grew Moonflowers & Morning Glory’s from seeds as a kid in Florida and decided to relive that memory…except I’m in Ohio now, so let’s hope things work out! Marigolds are supposed to repel mosquitoes (fun fact!) and the watermelon coleus was just pretty.  All of the seedlings are growing nicely in my large pot outside.  It’s just too bad that I forgot to label them.  Oops!

3/4.   Kind of meant to buy – I love anything paper/stationary/note card related.  I’ve been working on my client packaging for a bit now and these note cards are sure to make an appearance.  I love the combination of geometric stripes and graphic floral print.  And I clearly can’t help but purchase things that are green.

5.  Can’t leave Target without buying – Single serving packs of Haribo (pronounced Hair-eh-bow) Gold Bears – THE ONLY GUMMI BEARS YOU SHOULD CONSIDER EATING.  I could write a whole blog post about these little guys.  I’m that passionate about them.  It’s weird, but I can’t help it.  My mother-in-law even had them as part of the centerpieces at our wedding rehearsal dinner.  My favorite colors in order of preference are:  white, green, red.  I often leave the yellow and orange ones for my husband if I’m trying to be “good” and not eat the whole little pack.  Target also sells a 5lb. bag of Haribo Gold Bears if you need one.  I bought this as a house warming gift for my friend & neighbor Charles…he shares my love for Haribo.  They are the “original” gummi bears, after all.

6.  Meant to buy – Back to my love of all things paper.  Here is a birthday card that I recently purchased for a close friend of mine.  I’m always drawn to the elaborate and ever sparkly Papyrus cards at Target.  No, they aren’t your cheapest option, but they are special and quite fun to receive.  Papyrus is definitely a Lovemark of mine.

As always, fun times had by all at Target.
